362: Can't Look Away

I've stared into the sun
so many times
that there's a permanent spot
on my right eye.
Most of the time
I don't notice
that it's there.
But when I do
I can't look away.
I trace it
in loops around the room,
unable to pin it
to a particular shade
or coloured wall.
Watching you talk, laugh,
change in the morning,
fall asleep in the evening,
I wonder if you'll become
a permanent spot
somewhere deeper than my eyes.
