Some days
she turns the WiFi off
and puts her phone on silent.
Some days
she leaves her window open
and lays in the cold silence.
Some days
she chooses to disappear.
She pulls her hood up
and puts on her mask
and leaves her house
without any digital devices.
She drifts
through empty streets
underground stations
corner kitchens
and feels the ocean air mingle
with imported spices
and deep fried onion rings.
Some days
this is all she needs.
