326: Weights and Pressures

I've felt many weights
and pressures in my life:
the elder sibling's responsibilities;
wood stacked in my arms
to light the fire inside;
pen and paper and books
as I work through my degree;
soggy shoes in summer,
after crossing through a marsh;
always intuitively knowing
the roles I'm expected to perform.
Some weights are good,
some much less enjoyable.
Some have been necessary
to get me through the day.
But the most comfortable weight
I can think of
must be that of your head
resting in my lap.
