316: You Find Yourself

You find yourself
in the scattered pieces
of this land. The ruins
are the memories
of times long lost and gone,
uninhabited, indecipherable,
without the context
and the people they once housed.
You find yourself
in the wildflowers and growing shrubs,
among the bones
and crying birds. A fox
slips through the grass
and deer
wander undisturbed.
