300: Swallowed by Time

Recently

I've found time swallowing my words

Like a beast of hunger at a gourmet restaurant

Swallows each little canapé

And wants for more

I no longer sit alone

I'm surrounded by people

All the time

By noises and voices

And by the spider crawling down the wall behind my curtain

There is no silence to sit and think

No time to let the words form into lines

On the page staring back at me accusingly

Because of essays I have yet to write
