He tastes her lips with reverence
Feels the scales ripple beneath her skin
A threat
A warning
"I do not need you"
He knows.
He knows and asks without words: "But do you want me?"
Her chuckle rumbles through the ground
Fills the air
Reverberates in his bones
"Do I not frighten you?"
She does.
He tastes her lips again
Takes her hands in his
Loosely
Openly
"I would rather be wanted than needed"
There is a thrill and a comfort in that
She smiles
"I would rather be respected than feared"
"I hold no fear for you"
"That is why I want you"
He tastes her lips once more
Her claws rest on his skin
Present
She can tear him to shreds
He believes she won't
He decides to trust her.
