Her theory is this:
If you assemble everything she has created in her life,
you will find a picture of her heart. Her loves, her hates;
her darkest dreams and deepest wishes;
her light and her dark.
You will find her most personal self, the one she hides
in plain sight behind convoluted words and broken lines.
You will find her at her strongest and her most vulnerable,
and you will see that she is made of hope and despair
in equal measure.
To test her theory, do this:
Read her poems. Read her stories. See her paintings and her doodles.
Find out what she highlights when she reads.
Find out what she copies onto a new sheet of paper.
Watch what she photographs, hear the things she wants to do.
Once you look, you will see her everywhere,
and even you
might be part of this experiment.
