I will hold out my hand
So the spider crawls onto it
And take my time walking over
To crack open the window
Tipping my palm to watch
As its legs spill out from under it
And it falls silently
Into the hollow night
I will walk to the edge of the cliff face
And stare wide-eyed
Into the sapphire expanse of sea and sky
Feeling the wind rippling through my hair
Feeling alive
I am not afraid
I am not afraid
But when we sit on the stone wall
Under the dappled sunlight
Apollo's golden fingertips
Reaching through the leaves
When my eyes flit up
Into your green-brown irises
A deep forest of their own
Can I hold your gaze?
