266: Captivated

The sand is still warm
from a day spent in the sun.
It collapses
under my feet,
until my heels sink down
and my toes point up
as the crystals trickle between them
in tiny pyramids
or river deltas
that cover the tops of my feet and bury them.
Deep
deep
down.
The sand is still warm.
Until the water rises.
