262: Close-Knit

Grandma knits. You know this. You see her in her armchair by the radio whenever you stop by after school. You wear one of her woollen sweaters when it gets cold. Your cousins do, too, and your parents. Even the cat has a little knitted woollen cap that ties in place with a bow under its chin. The dog has a coat. You all wear her labour, her love crafted of yarn and needles clicking together. The sound fills your dream — click-swoosh, click-swoosh, click-swoosh — and you wonder what will happen when she runs out of yarn.
