257: Ripple Effects

wooden pearls trickle between her fingers

droplets

plink

plink

plink

into silence

ripples carry to the shore

hugging the crystalline sands and stalks

adorned with gilded stars that glimmer

and reflect the flickers far above

she watches

entranced by the extravagance

of the unadorned adorned

with words and warmth and wonder

and marvels that her little pearls

effected such a change
