251: Rose-Tinted Clichés

And so we're here. Now what?
I look at you. You're smiling.
Now what? I ask again.
We'll figure it out, you say.
That's scary.
You laugh. So what?
It's intoxicating, this feeling,
like we can conquer the world
with clichés and rose-tinted metaphors,
as we write ourselves into the long line of lovers
that came before and will follow after.
