Each shelf is filled with dreams winged by human hopes and desires. We gave stallions wings and called them pegasi. We gave men wings and called them angels. And what have we given ourselves? Soil. Seeds. Apples. Life and earthed knowledge. We bury our roots and claim the earth beneath our feet while men flee on the wings we gave them. They call debates and flights of fancy knowledge. Fleeting shadows that they are. They forget where all begins. Their wings wither in the freezing winds our rush guides. We sway them in their hubris and watch them fall. Plunge. Plummet. Into oceans heated to acidic purge, caught by membranes of flowering jellyfish that they have multiplied. The earth and soil is ours. We eradicate the ruthless ruthlessly. We protect our roots.
