210: Distracted II

Horses — four

Carriage — one

New clothes — six sets

A minor fortune lost

It is always like this

When something goes missing

Between here and there

Headache — one (major)

Letters to write — five (two, higher ups)

There are better things to write

than lists of economic losses and responsibilities,

especially when you sit across the room,

reading and scribbling in your notebook, with hairs

falling into your face and freckles

glowing in the lamp above you and maybe

I will distract you, ask what you are writing,

and distract myself

by looking at your smile.

Yes, I think I will do so.
