209: Distracted I

I'm not a poet, but I like to write. I like to think about sentences that turn and twist and feel like they're about to peter out — only to be picked up again with renewed vigour and run on and on, changing topic when you enter the room and my attention drifts from the white space of the page to greet you as you smile and sit down to resume your own writing, though I can tell you're tired after the meeting you just had. It's in the turn of your eyebrows and the lines around your mouth. A clichéd observation, but I hope it holds truth enough to convey what I'm not poet enough to say.
