They talk about a golden sunset and a pink dawn, but forget the soft warmth of a sunrise that merges them both. Soft white and gold coat the rooftops while twilight still crawls along the alleys, small street lights still shimmering. A patchwork of dotted clouds reaches across the sky, reflecting the white and gold, framing the thrush that soars and plunges. The distant hills are black silhouettes against this vista. A tinge of purple creeps into the collage. The colours dim. The day has just begun.
