189: Caeneus the Transformed

He sits on the porch when the storm arrives,
wind and rain hurling hail at his feet like heaps of pearls
washed up by a raging sea to silently rest at Caeneus' feet
after the transformation, a plea of forgiveness
from a raging god humbled by woman-turned-man
who sits touched but untouchable, reached but unreachable,
above the blues and watches
when rays of light burst through the clouds like jagged spears
searching, searching, never finding
the body they want to strike.
