round

auburn

smooth like velvet grown on trees

large leaves five-pointed

smell funny trampled in autumn

fallen skin shed

two halves of green armour

wards off spiders

and birds

collect the innards stick them on metal toothpicks

make giraffes and antelopes and rhinoceroses

roast them over open fire until black and charred

cut them open and fork out the cream

burns your tongue

do not speak too loudly of these sins

the birds will hear
