As I've walked this path for so very long, I've finally managed to stumble upon
that crossroad I was warned about, so many years ago.
My journey has been so very long, with sticks and rocks, and twisting roads,
my step not once ever slowed,
so, to think I'd be standing here at this cruel crossroad, though forewarned, is truly beyond me;
you see —
Choices are my very curse, the what-ifs and lurking failures
are, really, too much for me.
Preferring comfort over strife,
I'm always careful with my way of life,
so that's why One of the ways on this crossroad
is an ominous dark horse of surprise.
Two childhood dreams have come to fight,
One is just:
to fight for what is right,
The Other claims no other plight than to be
just as bright as Starlight.
The One I thought I'd never do, which can be said for the other, too
One is pain and the Other vain,
Success, in the end, is what we all crave.
So, now I'm just standing here,
like some clown of a sightseer,
Hoping for a hand to hold as I step off the common road
Into the darkness and the great unknown.
